The Campground Office at River Place is now closed for the season.


For Overnight Campsite reservations or any questions or concerns, please call the Pike Lake Office at 1-800-265-2551 ext. 243 OR email mgreen@riverplacecampground.com If you reach our voicemail, please leave a detailed message and indicate that you're looking for a campsite at River Place.

Winter Hours of the Office at Pike Lake is Tuesdays to Thursday 9:00am to 4:00pm

Dear Campers, 

Following the restrictions set forth from the Ontario Government and Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, River Place Campground Ltd. will remain closed until April 30, at which time we will re-assess based on the direction from the government and health officials. 

This was not our choice to make. The updated list of essential businesses that can remain open in response to COVID-19 was released April 3, 2020 [SOURCE]. Seasonal Campgrounds are not considered an essential service and so we must keep the facility closed to the public. The restrictions are aimed at further reducing contact between people and stopping the spread of COVID-19. 

As per your camping contract, please remember the camping season is from May 15 to October 15. Right now, all the buildings on the property including all the offices are closed until April 30 and the entrance has been blocked. If you need to check your trailer or pick something up, you can do so and then leave but note that you will have to park your car and walk in from the main office. We are not allowing anyone to stay at their trailers for an extended period or overnight (River Place will monitor this)

As things change we will provide further updates. We suggest that you keep checking our web page going forward for the most up-to-date information. 

At this time: 
1. Practise social and physical distancing by staying home and planning your camping season from the comfort of your couch 
2. Campground is closed (we are discouraging you from coming up to your trailers) 
3. Washrooms & Laundry rooms are closed
4. Water is off

Dear Campers, 

In our previous letter (sent March 23) we shared with you that we are deferring the April 15 camping payment until July 2020. This would mean the April payment would be doubled up with July. 

We have had some campers contact us that do not wish to defer the payment and continue with their monthly Direct Deposit. If you do not want to defer your April payment (and have not already contacted us) please email Michelle at info@pikelake.com at your earliest convenience. As it stands right now, unless you contact us, your April 15 payment will be deferred. 

As direction and regulations from the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Government of Canada changes regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we will continue to re-assess our next moves. Our most recent decision is to remain closed. 

We really do not know what is going to happen as we navigate this uncharted territory. We continue to monitor the situation as closely as we can and as information comes in, we will provide further updates regarding May payment and going forward. We appreciated everyone's understanding.

Based on direction from the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions and social distancing measures, River Place Campground Ltd. has made the difficult, but responsible decision to close the offices until April 6th at which time we will reassess.

Although this decision has not been easy for us to make, we feel it is the right thing to do based on the direction received. With our 2020 camping season just around the corner, we are deferring the April 15th camping payment until July 2020. As this is an unprecedented event happening in real time we will continue to monitor the situation as closely as we are able to and provide further updates as soon as we know anything. We ask that you keep checking out our web page for the most up to date information.

March 18, 2020:
During these challenging, ever-changing times of COVID-19, the health and well-being  of our customers and employees is our highest priority. We all play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment and social distancing is crucial. 

As of March 18, 2020: The entire campground is closed to the public until further notice. 

In order to protect our customers and employees: 
- Absolutely no admittance to the campground will be permitted until further notice. 
- The campground public washroom and laundry room are locaked and inaccessible. 
- The office and facilities at Pike Lake are also closed until further notice. 

Please feel welcome to call or email us for bill payments, questions, or concerns. We are happy to do whatever is necessary to provide you with the same service and convenience you would receive in person. 

As you can appreciate, the challenge is that the available information is constantly, so the decision is subject to change and we will be re-evaluating as more information comes in from health and government officials. 
Thank you for helping us do our part to practice social distancing. By staying apart, we are working together as a community to help get through these tough times.

- Once again this year, the waste dumpsters will be leaving the campground for the winter and will not be returning until the spring. Any garbage or recycling accumulated if visiting during the off season must be taken home to dispose of or taken to your nearest dump. Please do not leave waste where the dumpsters used to be.

Seasonal Campers: Due to Strict privacy laws, office staff cannot supply your information to visitors. Please ensure your visiting guests know your lot number before coming to River Place.
